Maja Salvador – Dance Princess of the Philippines

Maja SalvadorMaja Ross Andres Salvador, more popularly known as Maja Salvador was born on October 5, 1988. She is a daughter of the late actor Ross Rival of the well-known Salvador clan which also includes multi-awarded actor Phillip Salvador, director Leroy Salvador, and former actresses Alona Alegre, Deborah Sun and Jobelle Salvador.

She started her showbiz career in 2003 via a small role in the TV series It Might Be You, starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. A contract star of Star Magic, Maja was noticed for her dancing skills and was eventually given the title Dance Princess of the Philippines.

She was eventually given meatier roles in ABS-CBN shows including a lead role in Pangarap na Bituin alongside Sarah Geronimo, Jericho Rosales and Rica Peralejo. In 2010, she was cast to portray the the lead female character in Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Impostor opposite Sam Milby and starred in Minsan Lang Kita IIbigin with Coco Martin the following year.

In 2012, Maja starred in Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin with Jason Abalos and Patrick Garcia which was followed by Ina Kapatid Anak (IKA) with her best friend Kim Chiu. While doing IKA, the two actresses had a falling out after Maja got into a relationship with Kim’s ex, Gerald Anderson. Maja and Gerald are still together but her rift with Kim remains unresolved.

Maja Salvador is currently seen in the hit drama series, The Legal Wife, which also stars Angel Locsin, Jericho Rosales and JC de Vera.

Apart from television, Maja is also starred in several films including Sukob, First Day High, My Kuya’s Wedding, One More Chance, Villa Estrella, Cinco, My Cactus Heart, 24/7 in Love, and Thelma which won for her best actress awards from the Film Academy of the Philippines and Gawad Urian.

She recently released her recording album entitled, Believe.
