In 2005, Milby moved to the Philippines and with his good looks started a career in modelling. He is best remembered for his charming smile in a toothpaste commercial.
A big break came in 2005 when Sam was given the chance to be part of the phenomenal TV show “Pinoy Big Brother” as a replacement for a housemate who made a voluntary exit. Inside the PBB house, Sam captured the heart of the audience with his good looks, charm and musical talent. He was booted out of the house after 49 days but the rest, as they say, is history. Sam may not have bagged the PBB grand prize but he still became an instant celebrity upon his exit.
Soon after, he was offered a career management contract from Star Magic and was given projects such as hosting stint for ASAP, recording contract from Star Records, TV guestings and movies for Star Cinema.
As a top-selling recording artist, Sam have since released three studio albums under Star Cinema namely: the self-titled “Sam Milby,” a collaboration album with Toni Gonzaga “Love Duets” and the most recent “A Little Too Perfect.”
Sam has also proven his box-office prowess in such blockbuster hits as “Close to You,” “You Are the One,” “You Got Me,” “My Big Love,” “And I LOve You So” and “Babe I Love You.” He also starred in the independent film “Cul De Sac.”
On television, he has appeared on some of the most memorable series and hit Kapamilya shows including “ASAP,” “Maging Sino Ka Man Books 1 & 2,” “Maalala Mo Kaya,” “Dyosa,” “Only You,” “Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Impostor,” and the short-lived musical series “1DOL” with Sarah Geronimo and Coco Martin.
Sam was last seen in “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” with Judy Ann Santos, KC Concepcion and John Estrada. He is slated to portray a merman in the upcoming rehash of the Mars Ravelo classic, "Dyesebel," with Anne Curtis and Gerald Anderson. "Dyesebel" is set to premier in March 2014.
