Is there truth to the rumors that the Richard Gomez-Dawn Zulueta reunion TV series, You’re My Home, is going to be shelved indefinitely? According to the grapevine, Richard and Dawn, as well as the show’s producer, Dreamscape, decided to put off production after holding a story conference for the series. Apparently, the cast and production would like to see a better material for the family drama.
Last October, the Kapamilya network confirmed reports that Richard and Dawn will be reunited on television during the press launch of You’re My Home. It will be the enduring love team’s follow up project to the highly successful 2012 drama series, Walang Hanggan, with Coco Martin, Julia Montes, Paolo Avelino, Susan Roces and Helen Gamboa.
Apart from Richard and Dawn, the cast of You’re My Home includes Iza Calzado, Enchong Dee, Shaina Magdayao, Cherry Pie Picache, Ella Cruz and Francis Magundayao. The show was slated to premiere in the first quarter of 2014.
In late November, Dawn confirmed reports that she backed out from an upcoming Star Cinema film slated to be released this year. The project would have been her much awaited big screen reunion with Richard. In an interview, Dawn said that it is a “very nice project” but would rather wait for a different material if it would be for their highly-anticipate movie comeback.
“It’s a very nice project, actually. I just felt that maybe perhaps, since it’s our comeback movie as a love team, I felt that perhaps, we’ll wait for another kind of material na lang. that’s the only reason,” Dawn explained.
Gretchen Barretto was tapped to take her role. The film also stars John Lloyd Cruz and Jessy Mendiola, under the direction of Chito Roño.
