Angel Locsin and Luis ManzanoAfter the breakup of Bea Alonzo and Zanjoe Marudo and the alleged separation of Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz, another showbiz couple reportedly called it quits. According to veteran rumormonger and radio show host Cristy Fermin, a reliable source has told her that Locsin and Manzano have also parted ways.

‘Master Showman’ German Moreno dies at 82

German MorenoVeteran actor, TV host and star builder German Moreno died early Friday, January 8, 2016 due to cardiac arrest. Kuya Germs, as he was fondly called by both fans and showbiz personalities, was credited for building the careers of some of the biggest names in Philippine entertainment today.

Born on October 4, 1933 in Santa Cruz, Manila, Moreno entered the entertainment industry as a janitor and telonero (curtain raiser) of Clover Theater and was eventually given bit roles in plays. Pia Wurtzbach crowned as Miss Universe 2015 after a botched announcement of winners

Miss Universe 2015 - Pia WurtzbachPia Alonzo Wurtzbach, the Philippines’ representative to the the 64th Miss Universe pageant, won the coveted crown on Sunday night, December 20, 2015, US time. The 26-year-old Cagayan de oro native is the third Filipina to win the prestigious Miss Universe title after Gloria Diaz in 1969 and Margie Moran in 1973.

Wurtzback bested 79 other contestants in the 3-week competition which culminated in the grand coronation night held at at The AXIS, Las Vegas, Nevada. Olivia Jordan of the USA was announced 2nd runner up while Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutiérrez, was the 1st runner up. MMFF 2015 Official EntriesCome Christmas Day, Filipino films will once again take over local cinemas for the annual Metro Manila Film Festival. Pinoy film fanatics will have a field day as only locally-produced films, specifically the 8 official entries to the festival, will be screened in all cinemas all over the country for two weeks starting December 25th.

Last June 20, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), organizer of the Metro Manila Film Festival, announced the eight films that made it as official entries to the film fest. Over the months, one of the entries, Hermano Pule staring Aljur Abrenica, was pulled out due to funding issues and was replaced by the John Lloyd Cruz starrer, Honor Thy Father.  Other entries also made some changes in casting and titles. Goodbye Billy Crawford, Hello Luis Manzano: ‘Celebrity Playtime’ Gets New Time Slot and Host

Luis Manzano & Billy CrawfordKapamilya game show Celebrity Playtime gets a new host in Luis Manzano as it moves to a late evening time slot beginning this Saturday, November 14. The top-rating show will air after Your Face Sounds Familiar at 10:30pm. Taking its former early evening time slot is Dance Kids, a new show which will be hosted by Robi Domingo and Alex Gonzaga.

According to an official statement released by Kane Ochoa, head of ABS-CBN’s Integrated Corporate Communications, the network, Billy Crawford and his management, ALV Talents Circuit, mutually decided to relinquish the hosting chores in Celebrity Playtime to Manzano as it is a network policy that artists can’t be seen in two consecutively airing programs. Crawford is the host of the hit impersonation reality show, Your Face Sounds Familiar, which is currently on its second season.
