Xia Vigor - Taylor Swift impersonation - Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids“Langit Lupa” kiddie star Xia Vigor’s impersonation of pop star Taylor Swift in the top-rating show “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” has become a social media trending topic not only in the Philippines but also across the globe (watch Xia’s performance below). Apart from local fans, the child star’s performance of Taylor’s hit”Your Belong With Me,” also attracted the attention of various foreign news outlets, including Huffington Post, and the online sites of TIME and Billboard magazines.

People magazine called the impersonation “spot-on,” while British tabloid The Daily Mail described Xia’s performance as “extraordinary” and “pitch-perfect.” Teen Vogue also noted Xia’s “incredible display of showmanship,” while MTV said Taylor herself would be proud of Xia’s song and dance rendition of her hit. The couple appeared on the live telecast of Magandang Buhay, the daily morning talk show Cantiveros hosts alongside Karla Estrada and Jolina Magdangal, on Friday to announce that she and Francisco have reconciled. Furthermore, Melai said that she is 10 months pregnant with their second child.

In July, Francisco shocked fans when he posted a message on Instagram stating that he decided to give up his relationship with Cantiveros. 2016 Gawad Urian Awards WinnersJohn Lloyd Cruz and LJ Reyes were named Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively, during the 2016 Gawad Urian Awards Night held on June 22 at the Kia Theater in Cubao, Quezon City. Cruz won for the film Honor Thy Father, besting other nominees including John Arcilla (Heneral Luna), Ricky Davao (Dayang Asu) and Jericho Rosales (Walang Forever). He was nominated in the same category for his performance in A Second Chance.

Reyes, on the other hand, won as Best Actress for the film Anino sa Likod ng Buwan. Other contenders for the category included Nora Aunor (Taklub), Angeli Bayani (Iisa), Alessandra de Rossi (Bambanti) and Jennylyn Mercado (Walang Forever).

Jerrold Tarog was named Best Director for the film Heneral Luna while Centerstage Productions’ Taklub won as Best Picture.

Veteran actress-singer Sharon Cuneta will be the newest addition to the upcoming third season of the hit singing competition for young children, The Voice Kids. The Megastar herself confirmed reports in an interview aired on TV Patrol that she will be replacing Pop Royalty Sarah Geronimo as one of the three coaches of the show.

“Sobrang excited ako. I will be part of ‘The Voice Kids’ with, of course, Bamboo and Lea Salonga,” Cuneta told ABS-CBN News.

Geronimo, who was one of the original coaches of The Voice Kids, alongside Broadway Star Lea Salonga and singer-musician Bamboo Mañalac, announced in April that she will not be returning for the show’s 3rd season as she wants to concentrate on ASAP and hone her talents as an artist. However, she also said that she is open to return as a coach in the show’s future seasons.

Madonna in ManilaInternational pop superstar Madonna is currently in the Philippines for the Manila staging of her Rebel Heart Tour. The iconic recording artist is set to perform tonight and tomorrow night at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena.

Madonna arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) early Monday, February 22, from the Macau leg of her tour. The 56-year-old pop icon arrived with her 42-man entourage along with 40 tons of custom-made stage and audio equipment reportedly flown in by three Boeing jets. Madonna and her entourage are reportedly billeted at the posh Nobu Hotel in the City of Dreams complex.
