After rave reviews for her sterling performance in the blockbuster hit, Starting Over Again, with Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga, actress-host Iza Calzado is set to join the Kapamilya noontime variety program, It's Showtime. According to reports, Iza will be replacing Anne Curtis who will temporarily leave the noontime show to focus on her highly-anticipated fantaserye, Dyesebel.
In an interview, the Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition Doubles host said she will be able to show her funny side on It's Showtime.
"Madalas kasi na nasa isip ng tao na kapag Iza Calzado ay seryoso, walang funny and light moments. Ang hindi nila alam ay nakakatawa rin ako at ‘yan ang gusto kong maihatid sa kanila sa pagpasok ko po sa Showtime," Iza said.
The actress also revealed that she will no longer be part of Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon, Bea Alonzo's upcoming teleserye. According to reports, Iza was taken out of the series' cast because her contract with ABS-CBN states that she should be the lead star of the teleseryes she will be doing. However, she said that she has no problems playing support roles but just needed to follow what's stipulated in her contract.
Apart from hosting stints on television, Iza will also be very visible in films. After Starting Over Again, she will be seen in several indie films including Kuwentong Barbero, directed by Jun Lana, and Adolf Alix' Ride To Love. Filming of Someone To Love by director Joey Reyes is set to start this week.
