Born on September 20, 1990 in Cebu City, Erika Chryselle Gonzales Gancayco, more popularly known as Erich Gonzales, is a Filipina actress and one of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic artists. She is dubbed as the Philippines’ Sweetheart.
Erich Gonzales is the youngest of three siblings and grew up in Davao City. She first entered the Philippine entertainment scene after winning the Kapamilya reality talent search Star Circle Quest in 2005.
Since then, she became a member of Star Magic and appeared in many ABS-CBN shows such as Mga Anghel na Walang Langit, Calla Lily, Sana Maulit Muli, Super Inggo 1.5: Ang Bagong Bangis, Komiks Presents: Pedro Penduko at ang mga Engkantao, Ligaw na Bulaklak, Carlo J. Caparas’ Pieta and Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla Presents: Tiagong Akyat. She is also a regular performer on Sunday noontime varierty show, ASAP, up to the present.
She was then cast as Chloe Abella in the hit drama series Magkaribal with Gretchen Barretto, Bea Alonzo and Angel Aquino.
In 2011, Erich Gonzales starred in the Philippine remake of the Mexican drama María la del Barrio, which was originally portrayed by Mexican superstar Thalia.
Her last TV series was 2013's top rating Juan Dela Cruz where she played Coco Martin's leading lady.
Erich also starred in numerous films including Paano Kita Iibigin, Shake Rattle & Roll X, I Do,Paano Ko Sasabihin and Noy. Her most recent movie was Suddenly It’s Magic, a romantic film with Thai sensation Mario Maurer. Before that, she played the titular character in Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang, a psychological thriller that delves into the aswang myth and the culture that surrounds the legend.
Erich Gonzales is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of the Precious Hearts Romances novel, Once A Princess, opposite Enchong Dee. The two have previously worked together in numerous TV and film projects including Katorse, Paano Ko Sasabihin?, I Do, Tanging Yaman, Magkaribal and Maria La Del Barrio.
