It's official: Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo to star in 'Pangako Sa 'Yo' remake

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Network unveiled its upcoming programs for the first quarter of 2015 during a Trade Launch held at the NBC Tent, in Taguig City last December 2. Apart from performances from Kapamilya stars who will be part of the station's upcoming offerings, another highlight of the event was the official announcement that the phenomenal love team of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo will play the lead roles in the remake of the country's first ever teleserye, Pangako Sa 'Yo.

Originally aired in 2000 starring Jericho Rosales (Angelo) and Kristine Hermosa (Yna), Pangako Sa 'Yo is one of the most successful soap operas of the Kapamilya Network which was also a hit in over 20 other countries including the United States, Canada, Kenya, Botswana, Malaysia, Singapore, China and Thailand.

In the remake, the Teen King and Queen will portray starstruck lovers Angelo and Yna. It will be their follow-up to the 2014 hit series, Got to Believe. Joining KathNiel in the cast of Pangako Sa 'Yo are Jodi Sta. Maria and Angelica Panganiban who will play the equally iconic characters of Amore Powers and Claudia Buenavista, respectively.

The Pangako Sa 'Yo remake will be directed by one of its original directors, Rory Quintos, under Star Creatives, the same production behind other top-rating series like Got To Believe, Princess and I, The Legal Wife, and currently airing on primetime, Forevermore.
