Actress-host Anne Curtis took to Instagram to announce the upcoming release of her first international film, Blood Ransom. On Tuesday, the It’s Showtime host posted on Instagram a poster of the international indie movie along with a caption revealing its opening dates in the Philippines and North America. Anne also said that she auditioned for the part and is excited to finally see how the film turned out.
“Something to look forward to next month! My very first international indie film. I actually auditioned to get this part and got to experience filming in the States! So excited to see how it turned out! Yaaaaahoooooo! Blood Ransom will be coming to cinemas in the Philippines on October 29 and October 31 in North America. In May 2012, Anne temporarily left It’s Showtime and flew to the US to “pursue her Hollywood dream.”
“I was so emotional because I made a special announcement that I will be leaving for a month. Kaya ako naiyak kasi super effort sila, may pa-fiesta pa, send-off party, so nakakatuwa. It’s something to do with pursuing my dream. It’s a new chapter in my life, something that’s challenging. I just really, really want to do it,” a teary-eyed Anne said during a surprise send-off party given to her by her It’s Showtime family.
Blood Ramsom was set to be shown in 2013 but was delayed due to undisclosed reason. It is directed by Francis dela Torre, a Fil-Am director who is also behind Subject: I Love You, another international indie film released in 2011 which starred Jericho Rosales.
