Born Catherine Cruz Gonzaga on January 16, 1988, Alex Gonzaga is the younger sister of actress/singer/host Toni Gonzaga. She is starting to make a name for herself as an actress, comedian and television host.
Alex graduated from the University of Asia and the Pacific with a Master of Arts in Education degree, majoring in Child Development and Education, and eventually followed her ate Toni's footsteps. She started her showbiz career on ABS-CBN's sitcom, Let's Go, where she played the role of Alex in 2006. She remained as one of the main cast of the teen oriented sitcom until its fourth and final season (re-titled Gokada Go!) which aired its last episode on June 2007.
After Gokada Go!, Alex was cast in other Kapamilya shows including Pangarap Na Bituin, Your Song and My Girl. In 2008, Alex transferred to TV5 and became one of the network's most prized talents where she appeared in such shows as Juicy, Lokomoko, Babaeng Hampaslupa, P.S. I Love You and Enchanted Garden.
In 2013, Alex returned to ABS-CBN, appearing in such Kapamilya shows as ASAP, Banana Split, The Voice of The Philippines (as V Reporter), and Maalala Mo Kaya.
She is currently one of the co-hosts of the on-going 5th regular season of Pinoy Big Brother (All In) but was announced as a "celebrity housemate" during the show's launch on April 27, 2014. While inside the PBB house, Big Brother explained to her that she is a "house guest" and not a regular housemate, thus, she was exempted from nomination and eviction. It is one of her tasks to avoid revealing that she was a house guest from the other official housemates. Alex exited the PBB house after 49 days.
Apart from PBB: All In, Alex is also hosting The Voice Kids alongside Luis Manzano. She is also playing the lead role in the upcoming TV series, Pure Love, an adaptation of the hit Korean drama originally titled 49 Days. Pure Love is set to premier on July 7, 2014.
